Planning Department
The Planning Department is split into two specific roles, long range planning and current planning.
Long-Range Planning Division
- Manages the development and implementation of the Town’s comprehensive plan, the Community Compass. To learn about current projects click here
- Facilitates the development of small area plans, corridor plans, transportation plans, special studies, and regulatory updates
- Manages the Town’s community outreach and engagement efforts
- Administers the Town’s Public Art Commission
- Grant writing and reporting
Current Planning Division - This is where all construction, development, remodeling, subdivision, demolition, etc starts. All projects of this type must recieve approval from the Board of Zoning and Architecture Review (BOZAR) before they can obtain a building permit. - Manages development review processes and procedures
- Manages the Town's historic preservation ordinances, resources & Certified Local Government requirements
