Mt. Express Bus Service

Mountain Express is a free and very convenient year-round bus system for visitors and residents of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte.

The Town Shuttle route connects Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. This route operates every 15 minutes during the ski season and every 40 minutes during the summer.  It is a six to seven minute ride from Mt. Crested Butte to the 4-Way stop in Crested Butte. The bus stops are conveniently located throughout the Town of Crested Butte.

There are three routes that serve most of the condominiums in Mt. Crested Butte with frequencies of 15 and 30 minutes during the ski season. Each of these routes connects with the Town Shuttle at the base area of the ski resort (known as Mountaineer Square) in Mt. Crested Butte.  The Three Seasons/Chateaux Route serves the Three Seasons, Outrun, Ski Jump, Mt. Sunrise, Chateaux, and Marcellina Condominiums during the ski season.  The Crystal/Castle Route serves the Pitchfork, Crystal Road, Castle Road, Wood Creek, Timberline, West Wall & The Plaza during the ski season.  The Columbine/Eagle’s Nest Route serves Whetstone Road, Columbine Condominiums, Gothic Road near the Town Offices, Paradise Road, and Eagles Nest Condominiums during the ski season.

During the non-ski seasons, Mountain Express runs on a modified Town Shuttle Route which adds some of the Mt. Crested Butte Condominiums to the ski season Town Shuttle Route.
